The Lebanon Athletic Department is pleased to announce that lifetime Lebanon resident Steve Long '99 will be elevated to head coach of the Boys Volleyball club program, pending board of education approval.
As announced this Fall, Karen Miranda stepped away from coaching both the girls and boys volleyball programs as her daughter, Ninah (senior), will continue her career at Lipscomb University in Nashville in 2023. STORY HERE
Last year was the first season back for organized boys volleyball at Lebanon in over two decades. Coach Long, who played volleyball for Lebanon from 1997-1999 and was a wide receiver on the 1998 State Championship football team, volunteered as the junior varsity head coach last season. He also coached girls volleyball at LHS in 2000 and 2001 under Bunny Brooks.
Steve and his wife Rian reside in Lebanon with their two daughters Ava (9th grade) and Emerson (2nd grade). Ava plays varsity for the Lebanon Lady Warriors volleyball program and earned honorable mention All-ECC recognition as a freshman. Rian owns and operates the Lebanon Youth Volleyball organization and also played volleyball for Lebanon (2001).
Boys volleyball is played in the spring season (grades 9-12). Information for winter open courts and other team activities will begin to be published in school, on social media, and via FinalForms as the new calendar year approaches.
