LEBANON WELCOMES JOSH AARON AS NEW BOYS SOCCER COACH

Introductory meeting Wednesday 3/1 at 6PM

The Lebanon Athletic Department and interview committee are excited to welcome Josh Aaron as the new head coach of the boys soccer program, pending board of education approval.

Coach Aaron most recently served as the head coach at his alma mater, LaPorte (IN) High School, the past three seasons. Josh's career in sales afforded him a professional opportunity in southwest Ohio. He, his wife Alyssa, and 1 year old daughter Blakely, relocated to Liberty Township in October.

Coach Aaron had a very decorated playing career. Following his time as a player, Aaron spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (OH), where he earned his M.B.A., before returning as the head coach at LaPorte High School.

"Coach Aaron impressed us more through each step of the process," Said Athletic Director Keith Pantling. "We play in an elite soccer conference. Josh has played and coached high-level soccer and we're excited for him to inject his modern thinking and high-energy training methods to establish a well-rounded culture into our program."

As a player, Aaron was part of a high school program that saw him win an All-State honor and become the leading career goal scorer for the program. He went on to play at Bethel University (IN) and was part of two national championship runner-up seasons in 2014 and 2015. Aaron also played semi-professionally for Chicago Inferno and Lansing United, moving on to play for Botafogo in Brazil and Queretaro F.C. in Mexico.

Aaron shared, "I'm appreciative of this opportunity. I'm eager to meet the boys and get to work. I've seen the results and excitement from recent years and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can build for the future."

The Warriors experienced a memorable postseason run this past fall led by 14 seniors in the class of 2023. Lebanon, who finished the year 7-10-3, advanced to the district semifinal by defeating #6 Butler 5-1 on the road before falling to Centerville.

A brief introductory meeting will be held Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. All returning players, prospective participants (grades 8-11), as well as parents are welcome to attend.
