Lebanon boys soccer coach Stephen Jaynes announced he is stepping away from his role in 2023. We are grateful for all of the contributions Coach Jaynes has made to the program. 

Coach Jaynes has been the head coach of the program since 2014 (nine seasons), amassing 67 wins, 69 losses and 22 draws. He informed players within the program of his intentions at a meeting after school on January 5th. 

Jaynes helped lead the Warriors to GWOC south division titles in 2014 (5-0) and 2015 (4-0-1). Most recently, the Warriors experienced a memorable postseason run led by 14 seniors in the class of 2023. Lebanon, who finished the year 7-10-3, advanced to the district semifinal by defeating #6 Butler 5-1 on the road before falling to Centerville. 

"I have a lot of people I'd like to thank," Coach Jaynes shared. "There have been a lot of good players, more importantly a lot of good people, come through this program and I'm grateful to have been a part of it.  I've always had very supportive athletic directors and loyal assistant coaches.  Before becoming a head coach I learned a lot working under Bruce Bingham, Steve Poitinger and Jeremy Hilen.  I'd like to also thank all of my assistants; Brandon Gibson, Jason Wynkoop, Jamie Hilen, Kaleb Klussman, Brady Marsh, Paul Gamber, Tracey Pierce and Nate Imhoff."  

Prior to taking over as head coach, Coach Jaynes served as an assistant coach for the Lebanon girls under Bruce Bingham from 2008-2010 and then as an assistant for the boys from 2011-2013.

Mr. Jaynes will continue to serve the district in his role as a mathematics teacher.
