Shannon Hemsink joins Lebanon Junior High for her first season as the 7th Grade Maroon Girls Volleyball Head Coach, bringing with her 25 years of coaching experience at the high school, club, and collegiate levels.
A graduate of Colerain High School, Shannon was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball as an outside hitter, basketball as a forward, and softball as a first baseman. She continued her volleyball career at the collegiate level, playing as an outside hitter and libero at the University of Findlay and as a libero at Bowling Green State University.
Shannon’s coaching career spans across school, club, and collegiate programs. She has served in roles such as JV Girls Volleyball Head Coach at Colerain High School, Freshman and JV Girls Volleyball Head Coach at Oak Hills High School—where she helped lead both teams to GMC Championships—and Varsity Boys Volleyball Assistant Head Coach at Oak Hills. She was also the Varsity Head Coach at Summit Country Day. In addition, Shannon coached the Miami University Men’s Club Volleyball Team from 2003–2005.
At the club level, Shannon has guided nationally ranked teams and qualified squads for nationals while coaching with Cincy Classics, NKYVC, and Cincinnati Attack. Most recently, she has coached with Ohio Premier Volleyball and Lebanon Youth Volleyball, continuing her passion for developing young athletes.
Outside of coaching, Shannon serves as Vice President of Marketing and Development. She earned her undergraduate degree from Miami University and an MBA from the University of Findlay.
Shannon lives in Oregonia with her three children—Lincoln (14), Hailey (12), and Sydney (6). Their family also includes two yorkiepoos (Iggy and Leo), two guinea pigs (Ivy and Ginger), and a blue tongue skink named Tung Tung. In her free time, Shannon enjoys staying active outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her kids.
She is excited to bring her passion for the game and wealth of experience to the Lebanon volleyball program, helping to grow and inspire the next generation of Warrior athletes.
