Jason Brunie joins the Lebanon High School boys soccer program for his first season as a Junior Varsity Coach. A 1999 graduate of Alliance High School, Jason was a standout multi-sport athlete, competing as a defender in soccer and a placekicker in football. On the soccer field, he was a four-year letterman, two-year team captain, and earned First Team All-Federal League and First Team All-Stark County honors in 1998.
Jason went on to graduate from Miami University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and later earned his Master’s degree from the University of Dayton in 2006. Professionally, he serves as an Acquisition Program Manager for the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, overseeing major defense acquisition programs from development through sustainment.
Soccer runs deep in Jason’s family. His father, James Brunie, coached the Alliance High School varsity soccer team from 1998 to 2017, leading three district championship teams, earning eight league Coach of the Year honors, and being inducted into the AHS Hall of Fame in 2019. Inspired by his father, Jason enjoys breaking down game film and sharing strategy with him.
Outside of coaching, Jason continues to play in adult indoor soccer leagues, enjoys running races, and is an avid supporter of FC Cincinnati, Cleveland sports teams, and Ohio State football. He and his wife, Leah, a Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetics at the Dermatology Group in Springboro, have two sons: Vincent, a freshman at LHS, and AJ, a fifth grader at Berry Intermediate. The family has lived in Lebanon since 2015, after spending four years in Cairo, Egypt, where Jason worked at the U.S. Embassy. They share their home with a sheltie named Winston and a cat named Pumpkin.
