Marty Collier

With over 34 years of coaching experience, Martin Collier has been a dedicated force in Lebanon High School's athletic programs since 1993. As the Girls Head Track Coach, Assistant Cross Country Coach, and former football coach, he has cultivated a legacy of excellence and mentorship.

A graduate of Marysville High School, Martin excelled as a defensive end and wide receiver in football, as well as a sprinter, hurdler, and high jumper in Track and Field. His passion for athletics has translated into a successful coaching career, where he has earned multiple accolades, including being named Girls Track Coach of the Year for FAVC, MML, and GWOC six times. In football, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Lebanon High School Warriors’ 1997 Region 8 Championship squad and the 1998 State Championship team, earning him the Miami Valley Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year award in 1998.

Under his guidance, the track and field team has captured several conference titles, including FAVC in 1998, MML in 2003, and GWOC championships from 2008 to 2013. His athletes have achieved remarkable success, including D1 Southwest District Championships in 2010 and 2011, and a fourth-place finish at the State Meet in 2011. Notable athletes include Ann Worley, the 1993 State Champion in High Jump, and Jacquelyn Crow, the 2011 State Runner-Up in the 3200m, among many others.

A passionate sports fan, Martin roots for the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoys traveling, water sports such as boating, water skiing, and kayaking, as well as hiking.

Outside of coaching, Martin is a dedicated science teacher at Lebanon High School. He and his wife, Laura, who has been an educator and administrator for many years, have been happily married for 31 years. Their daughter, Madie (Lebanon class of '14), is a child advocate and counselor, currently pursuing her MSW at Ohio State, while their son, Zane (Lebanon class of '16), holds an MBA from the University of Toledo and works in the Athletic Department's Development Office.

The family is completed by their beloved pets: Willow and Pete, retired racing Greyhounds; Hector, a Multipoo; Ursula, a Chihuahua; Frank, a French Bulldog; and Sydney, a Senegal parrot.

Martin looks forward to another exciting season, committed to nurturing the next generation of athletes and instilling a love for the sport.
