Coach Keith Shilt enters his second year as the Varsity Head Coach for the Lebanon High School Baseball program, bringing with him 15 years of coaching experience. A graduate of Wayne High School in Huber Heights, OH, Coach Shilt was a standout athlete in both basketball and baseball. He was named Team MVP in basketball during his junior and senior years and earned 1st Team Western Ohio League (WOL) honors as a junior and senior. In his senior year, he was recognized as Player of the Year in the WOL, All-Area, and earned Honorable Mention All-State as a junior and Special Mention All-State as a senior.
In baseball, Coach Shilt was also a star player, earning 1st Team WOL honors during his junior and senior years, and being named Player of the Year in the WOL in his senior season. He also earned All-Area and Honorable Mention All-State recognition in baseball. He received the prestigious Heidkamp Scholarship as the Male Academic Athlete of the Year during his senior year, and was also a member of the Metro Conference All-Academic Team throughout his college career at the University of Louisville.
Coach Shilt’s pitching career was highlighted by an unusual and memorable record: he set the record for the most hit batsmen in an inning (3) during a 1995 game against Tulane. He also led his team in saves during both his sophomore and junior seasons.
In college, Coach Shilt continued to build on his strong foundation in baseball and furthered his love for the game. After his playing career, Coach Shilt has been involved in coaching youth and high school baseball. One of his proudest coaching moments includes working with Ty Duvall, a Lebanon High School graduate who went on to win an NCAA Championship while playing at Vanderbilt University.
Outside of coaching, Coach Shilt works in Truck Sales and Leasing for Large Commercial Accounts. He is honored and blessed to lead the Lebanon Warriors Baseball Program, where he strives to instill hard work, discipline, and a love for the game in every player.
When not on the field, Coach Shilt enjoys spending time with his family at their home in Lebanon, as well as their “small home” at Indian Lake during the late spring, summer, and fall months. He’s an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and loves watching and rooting for their games.
Coach Shilt has been married to his wife, Connie, since 1996, after meeting her in high school when they were both 14 years old. They have three children: Maddie (23), who is married to Noah, and Jaeli (14) and Gehrig (13), along with their Best Dog in the World, Starbucks
