The Warriors boys track team opened the season with a strong team effort, capturing the win at the Harrison All Comers meet with 140 points.
Fresh off earning All-State honors indoors, Elijah Doster picked up two victories on the day, besting the field in the 100 (11.18w) and 200 (22.47). Jerrick Kelley (110 hurdles - 15.27) and Calvin Kilgallon (1600 - 4:37.35) were also victorious in their respective events.
Depth was the word of the day for the Warriors, as they placed four in the top six in the 200. Behind Doster, Javier Rosa was third (22.89), Braden Kay was fourth (23.06), and Lukas Roddy was sixth (23.76).
Kay was also fourth in the 100 (11.56). Rosa was fourth in the 100 (11.57) and sixth in the long jump (19’1). Kelley was runner-up in the 300 hurdles.
Cam Williams burst onto the varsity scene, earning runner-up honors in the High Jump (5’8”) and fourth in the long jump (19’6”). Colton Schuebel launched a massive personal-best in the shot put (45’0”).
The Warriors distance runners flashed their depth, as well. JD Fleig was third in the 800 (2:02.96), and he was followed by Wes Holdcraft, Nate Cochran, and Jackson Taylor in fifth, sixth, and eighth. Earlier, Caleb Nolasco and Tyler Callahn were fourth and seventh in the 1600. Kilgallon doubled back from his mile win to earn runner-up honors in the 400 (53.09).
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, April 1 at Northmont.
