Throwback Night in Historic Gymnasium; District Performance Center Turf Project Announced

| By:

Lebanon Athletics will honor generations of Warrior pride with a special Throwback Night on Tuesday, February 24.

The boys basketball team will host Beavercreek in what will be the final varsity home game played in the historic gymnasium (home to LHS from 1969-2004) before the space is transformed into a turf surface multi-use training space in the months ahead. We've received word that the boys have tracked down some classic tube socks, and the cheerleaders have uncovered vintage uniforms to fully lean into the throwback spirit of the night.

Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Upcoming Project

The Lebanon Athletic Boosters, in partnership with Lebanon Athletics and Lebanon City Schools, will fully fund the transformation of the District Performance Center gymnasium into a turf-surfaced, multi-use indoor training facility—at no cost to the district.

Located at 160 Miller Road, the District Performance Center served as home to Lebanon High School from 1969 through 2004. Today, the building houses district central offices, choir rooms, technology offices, an 1,100-seat auditorium, locker rooms, storage areas, a weight room, and the gymnasium.

As one of eight traditional gyms in the district—and the only one not directly attached to a school—the 10,120-square-foot space presents a unique opportunity to better serve student-athletes and the broader community.

Project Highlights:

  • Full turf installation across the gym floor
  • Safety padding enhancements throughout the facility
  • Continued use for physical education classes
  • Expanded off-season training opportunities for multiple sports
  • Retention of the baseball/softball batting tunnel on the balcony level
  • Increased rental opportunities to generate additional district revenue
The upgraded facility will significantly enhance training capacity for Lebanon student-athletes while also supporting local youth organizations. The project reflects a forward-thinking investment in the future of Lebanon Athletics and strengthens the district's ability to compete at the Division I level in today's evolving athletic landscape.

"We are incredibly proud of this initiative and the opportunity it provides for our student-athletes and community," Lebanon Athletics leadership shared. "This project represents a meaningful investment in the long-term success of our programs."

Boosters Gala to Support Project

The marquee fundraising event supporting the initiative will be the Lebanon Athletic Boosters Annual Gala, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at Manor House.

Tickets are now on sale to the general public. Community members interested in supporting the future of Lebanon Athletics are encouraged to attend.
