STEVE PICKWORTH '73:  Steve, a 1973 graduate, earned eight varsity letters during his career at LHS.  Two of those letters were for basketball, where he held the best shooting percentage his senior year.  Steve earned three of his letters in track and field, where he was the league champion in the 440 meter his freshman year, and second  in the league in the 880 meter his sophomore year. Football was the sport where Steve earned his final three letters, and the most recognition.  His senior year he was named 1st Team All Conference (leading the conference in most touchdowns) and 1st Team All County.  That same year he was Honorable Mention All District, Most Valuable Offensive Player, had the most decorated helmet, and set a team record for most catches in a game. 

SUSAN HOLLINGSHEAD HECKAMAN '91: A 1991 graduate, Susan  was a standout in cross country and track & field from the fall of 1987 through the spring of 1991. In cross country, she was a three-time state qualifier,  earned first-team All League honors and was named All Ohio.  At the time of her graduation, she held the 5K  record of 19:06 set in 1987.   In track and field, Susan was a state qualifier in the 3200m.  She also held the school record in both the 1600 with the time of 5:22, and 3200 with the time of 11:15, both set in 1988.

DAN WORLEY '93: A three year varsity letterman in Wrestling, Dan, LHS Class of 1993, made a name for himself on the mat.  A three-time Southwest District DII Champion and Edgewood Sectional Champion all three years, Dan consistently competed at the highest levels, qualifying for districts and state each season. He was a two-time Mid Miami League Champion and received honorable mention in 1991. He was also a key contributor to the 1992 Mid Miami League Championship Team.   Dan was a three time state qualifier, and placed 3rd in the state in 1993.

SCOTT SMITH '96:  Scott was a 1996 graduate who excelled in golf at Lebanon High School, earning four varsity letters and being named 1st Team All Mid Miami League all four of  years.  He played an important role in leading his team to three straight league championships  and three district tournament appearances.  Scott rounded out his successful high school career by being named Mid Miami League Player of the Year. 

JEREMY SLAVEN '01:  From the Class of 2001, Jeremy earned nine varsity letters while at Lebanon: four in both football and wrestling and one in  track and field. His most decorated sport was wrestling where he was a four-time All Fort Ancient Valley Conference Champion and a key member of the FAVC Championship Teams his sophomore and junior years.  He qualified for districts all four years and reached the state tournament twice.  His achievements include being a 2-time sectional champion, a Southwest District D1 3rd place finisher in both 2000 and 2001, and earning Dayton Journal Herald All-Area 2nd Team honors in 2000, with special mention in 1998 and 1999.

HANNAH TURPIN '12:  A Class of 2012 graduate, Hannah  was a standout in both cross country and track.  She earned eight varsity letters, with four in each sport. In cross country, she was a four-time First Team All-Conference selection and a state qualifier.  On the track, Hannah was a key contributor to multiple GWOC South and district championships, and she also excelled at the state level. She was a state placer her junior year, finishing 3rd in the 4x800 and 4th in the 4x400, and returned her senior year to help her team place 6th in the 4x800.

KAITLYN BERGMAN '14: A dominant two-sport athlete, Kaitlyn, a graduate of the Class of 2014,  earned seven total varsity letters- three in basketball, and four in softball.   On the diamond, she quickly made her mark, being named Rookie of the Year in 2011, followed by back-to-back Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013, and Team MVP her senior year.  She was a two-time GWOC South Division Athlete of the Year, a three-time All GWOC selection, and earned All Metro honors three years in a row. Kaitlyn was named 1st Team All-Ohio in both 2013 and 2014, and at the time of her graduation, held the school records for career home runs with 25 and single-season home runs  with 12.

TARA TRAINER '15: One of the most dominant pitchers in school history,  Tara (Class of 2015) earned four varsity letters in softball and compiled an outstanding list of accomplishments. She was named GWOC South Player of the Year three times, earned All GWOC and 1st Team GWOC South honors in those same years, and was a 1st Team All-Metro and 1st Team All-Ohio selection in both her junior and senior years. Tara was recognized as the team MVP her senior year, and was named the 2015 Gatorade Ohio High School Player of the Year, a prestigious honor awarded to the top player in the state. At the time of her graduation, she held school records for career wins  with 58 and career strikeouts with 748, along with a single-season strikeout total of 274.

MIKE BAIN '78 (Special Member):  As a sophomore new to Lebanon High School, Mike wasn't destined to be a football star — but a pivotal moment with Coach VanDeGrift changed his life. When he considered quitting football, Coach V instead encouraged him to become a student athletic trainer, sparking a lifelong passion for medicine and service. Known affectionately as "Bainer the Trainer," Mike set a new standard as Lebanon's first student athletic trainer, learning injury prevention and treatment while revamping the training room and earning EMT and paramedic certifications before graduating. His early lessons in leadership and perseverance shaped a distinguished 30-year career in Emergency Medicine, where he was repeatedly named a "Top Doc" and later became TriHealth's first Chief Medical Information Officer. Mike's journey came full circle when he helped care for Coach VanDeGrift after a serious accident — a testament to their enduring bond and shared faith. Now facing Alzheimer's with the same courage and resolve, Mike embodies the lifelong impact of mentorship, character, and the spirit of never giving up.
