Lebanon Athletics is excited to introduce Landon Martin as the new head girls lacrosse coach, pending Board of Education approval. Coach Martin comes with a wealth of coaching and leadership experience.
"Coach Martin will propel girls lacrosse in Lebanon. He is passionate about coaching and is an innovative leader." shared Keith Pantling, Lebanon Athletic Director. "Landon will work tirelessly to continue the growth and development of the program on and off the field, all while creating a fun and memorable experience for our Warriors."
An introductory meeting for returning and prospective players will be scheduled a few weeks into the school year. Coach Martin shared the introductory letter below to students and parents registered in Final Forms for lacrosse.
Landon and his wife Amanda have resided in Lebanon since 2009. Amanda is an Intervention Specialist at Lebanon High School. They have two daughters, Kandyn (14) and Kyleigh (11) who attend Lebanon City Schools.
Hello Lebanon Warriors girls lacrosse families.
It is my honor to introduce myself as the new Lebanon Girls Varsity Lacrosse coach. I am appreciative of the opportunity extended by Keith Pantling and the LHS Athletic Department, and the efforts that went into that process.
While I am excited and eager to begin this journey with you, I know there is much to learn and much to do. I am happy to announce that after conversations with Clara Blaine (JV Head Coach) and Meg Gadzala (Varsity Asst. Coach), both will be returning to the program this year and are excited to continue to help build a culture that allows our female student athletes to thrive as players and people, while achieving lofty goals we will establish collaboratively as coaches and players.
Our next step will be meeting in person. As everyone begins to settle back into the school routine, I will be coordinating with the athletic department to set up a meeting for all parents and players interested in playing lacrosse this coming season. We will do our best to avoid current Fall sports/clubs practice times and game schedules. We'll call it a meet and greet, at which time I can share a little more about myself and answer any questions you may have. Please expect this meeting to take place 2-3 weeks after school has started, and be on the lookout for communication regarding the date, time and location.
Shortly after that meeting we will begin Fall/Winter training and conditioning for any athletes who are able to attend. While it is strongly encouraged you attend as often as possible, attendance will not be held against you as tryouts and the season approach next Spring. I hope to see as many girls there as possible, and I also understand other sports and work schedules can be difficult to juggle during the "offseason".
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in a few weeks when the meet and greet is scheduled. In the meantime, I hope you all have a smooth transition from Summer to school.
Thank you and Go Warriors!
— Landon Martin
