Matt McIntire

Coach Matt McIntire brings 15 years of coaching experience to Lebanon High School, where he currently serves as an Assistant Wrestling Coach. A standout wrestler at Lakota West High School, Coach McIntire had a remarkable high school career, starting all four years and earning numerous accolades. He was a 4-time league champion, 4-time sectional champion, 3-time district champion, and a 4-time state qualifier. His impressive high school career culminated in back-to-back state titles, finishing 5th in the state in 1999, 2nd in 2000, and winning 1st place in 2001 and 2002. He also became a National Champion in his senior year and finished his career with an outstanding 162-6 record.

Coach McIntire continued his wrestling journey at Indiana University, where he competed at 149 lbs as a redshirt freshman. His experience as a wrestler has played a key role in shaping his coaching philosophy, which emphasizes technique, discipline, and the importance of a strong work ethic.

Coach McIntire has had a diverse coaching career, including:

  • Assistant Coach at Lakota West (2008-2012)

  • Assistant Coach at Anderson High School (2013-2017, 2019-2020)

  • Head Coach at Mason High School (2017-2019)

  • Assistant Coach at Lebanon High School (2020-2024)

During his coaching tenure, Coach McIntire helped lead teams to success, including reaching the State Duals Elite Eight with both Mason High School (2018, 2019) and Lebanon High School (2022).

In addition to his coaching role, Coach McIntire works as an Intervention Specialist at Lebanon High School, where he is dedicated to supporting his students both academically and athletically.

Outside of coaching, Coach McIntire enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and playing music. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children: Rose (8), William (6), and Hudson (2).

Coach McIntire’s passion for wrestling and commitment to his athletes make him a valuable asset to the Lebanon wrestling program, where he continues to foster growth, teamwork, and success.
